Hartman Groep takes over Mera Trans BV

Last December 2023, the Hartman Groep from Nieuw-Amsterdam signed an agreement to take over Mera Trans. As of January 1, 2024, the transport activities, employees and entire fleet of Mera Trans from Waddinxveen will join the Hartman Groep. This acquisition not only strengthens the existing activities of the Hartman Groep, but also significantly increases its position in temperature controlled transport.

Mera Trans specialized in the transport of vegetables, fruits, flowers and plants, among other things. The company will continue the current B.V. in Waddinxveen and in due course will be integrated into the Hartman Groep companies.

Rick Soonius (Mera Trans Management) has indicated that, after a long career in the transport, he wants to slow down and will be looking for a position elsewhere.

Paul Helderman (Mera Trans Management), together with all employees, will continue to make every effort to provide the current service and quality that Mera Trans customers are accustomed to from Waddinxveen.

Expanding position in temperatured controlled transport

Ronald Hartman, Director Hartman Groep: “We are very pleased to welcome the 60 new colleagues and see this acquisition as a further strengthening of the existing activities of the Hartman Groep! In the coming period we will mainly look at where logistics can be made more efficient and especially more sustainable through this acquisition. With the addition of the Waddinxveen location as an additional HUB, the Hartman Groep’s position in conditioned transport will be significantly expanded, especially in countries such as England, Denmark and Sweden.”

The Hartman Groep also includes J.P. Vis & Zn and Zwaan & Partners. Companies that, like Mera Trans, continue to operate under their own names.
