Zwaan & Partners Logistics BV, based in Marknesse, will be taken over by the Hartman Groep from Nieuw-Amsterdam on January 1. The acquisition concerns all eight combinations of Zwaan & Partners. The drivers have been informed and will all transfer to the Hartman Groep.
Zwaan & Partners is active in the transport and detailed distribution of flowers and plants throughout Denmark for regular clients. This makes the company a great addition to the activities of Hartman Expeditie.Hartman Expeditie has its own locations in Vejle and Greve, Denmark. Director Ronald Hartman: “The activities of Zwaan & Partners fit in perfectly with our Danish operations and ensure a larger cargo flow and a further strengthening of our network. A strong point in particular is the distribution of flowers and plants within Denmark.”
Zwaan & Partners drivers are stationed in Nieuweschans, where the drivers take turns between national journeys and trips to Denmark. Zwaan & Partners planning will be transferred to our location in Nieuw-Amsterdam, where Kees Zwaan remains involved in the planning.
The reason given for the takeover is a lack of succession within Zwaan & Partners. With the takeover by the Hartman Groep, the company benefits from the structure of the organization and the economies of scale of the Hartman Groep. In recent years, a large logistics center of the Hartman Groep has been built on the Bedrijvenweg 8 in Nieuw -Amsterdam, including its own workshop/garage, truckwash and crossdock facilities. The Hartman Groep also includes J.P. Vis & Zn, a company that, like Zwaan & Partners, continues to operate under its own name. Brinkman Trans B.V. also belongs to the Hartman Groep.
With the acquisition of Zwaan & Partners, the Hartman Groep now has a total of 135 tractor units, 300 semi-trailers and more than 300 employees.
